Storm Damage Drone Inspections Available

for Hard to Access Roofs

Drones have become a great tool in helping Engineers and Contractors access dangerous roof locations and provide a greater overview of customer facilities during the thermal imaging and storm inspection process.

Hard-to-access roofs, especially after severe storms, can now be inspected safely and efficiently using storm damage drone inspections.

Building Envelope Thermal Analysis

Our detailed thermal imaging tools are high resolution compared to the readily available consumer version. These tools provide a clear delineation between warm and cool areas of interest, which is important when trying to conclude a thermal analysis report.

Thermal analysis of the building envelope further enhances understanding of heat loss patterns and potential vulnerabilities, ensuring energy efficiency and structural integrity are maximized.

Ventilation Analysis

Ventilation is a very common deficiency within older homes and some new construction homes. Todays understanding of ventilation is much clearer than in the past, primarily due to advancing technology.

  • Many homes with knee walls and shared attic space walls “crawl spaces” lack insulation quality and air flow.
  • The knee wall joint and adjoining ceiling a lot of times is packed with insulation with no baffles or air intakes to feed those baffles, so there’s no way to promote air exchange.
  • The lack of air exchange with the outdoor ambient temperature promotes condensation within these “high temperature” closed attic spaces, which leads to rusting roof nails, deteriorating roof sheathing “decking” and mold.

There are solutions to choose from during a roof replacement that can improve ventilation, including Lomanco DA-4 Air Intake and High Permeable synthetic underlayment’s with a Ridge Vent that promotes 1:1 intake to exhaust ratio.

Roof Maintenance and Service Agreements

Roofs frequently don’t last their intended life span, but with proactive inspections and scheduled maintenance, Minnesota Roofing Contractors can ensure that the Owner will improve their odds of meeting the roofs intended life expectancy.

Roof Warranties: even though a manufacturer’s warranty may have been purchased with the Owner’s new roof, most roofing material manufacturers require regular maintenance to keep their roof warranties valid. This means the owner continues to be responsible for the proper roof care and maintenance to ensure its top performance.

MRC’s goal is to ensure that the Owners’ roof system is properly maintained through offering a maintenance program, which addresses failing seams / roof coverings, reduces costly repairs "including interior damages" and initiates the future replacement planning activities, reducing unexpected costs.

Roof Maintenance Services

MRC’s roof inspection will consist of the following services:

Roof Maintenance Frequency

MRC agrees to perform a roof maintenance service program to low slope or steep slope roof system (annually in the Spring and/or semiannually in the fall and spring) and will coordinate with the Owner to schedule inspection date(s) and time(s). Includes inspecting after a large storm event (example: high winds of 70 mph +) and/or tornados.

Questions about Minnesota Roofing Contractors Engineering & Maintenance Services?

FAQ

Be prepared and make good decisions.

Contracted engineering services involve expert evaluations, such as detailed moisture intrusion and storm damage analysis, identify and address potential roofing issues before they become costly problems, utilizing objective methods and tools when possible.

Moisture intrusion analysis detects areas where water is seeping into your roof, acting as a catalyst by causing structural damage, mold growth, and other expensive repairs.

Proper ventilation ensures your roofing system has adequate out door air exchange in trapped spaces, which meets manufacturer warranties, reduces the risk of mold, and prevents premature aging caused by trapped heat and moisture.

These agreements provide routine inspections and preventive maintenance to keep your roof in good condition, identify potential problems early, extend its lifespan, and comply with most roofing systems Manufacturing warranties.

By addressing issues like poor ventilation, lack of insulation, moisture intrusion, and storm damage, these services improve your roof’s performance, reduce energy loss, and enhance overall energy efficiency.

Yes, by proactively identifying and resolving issues early, you can avoid costly repairs, improve energy efficiency, and extend the life of your roof, reducing total cost of ownership.
